With Christmas just a few weeks away, many of us are excited about the prospect of spending the holidays with fewer government restrictions (provided that COVID numbers are kept down and health protocols are observed). We hum yuletide carols, make our Christmas list, daydream of yummy treats, and entertain thoughts of getting together with friends and family, yet we all know that these happy activities are but trimmings on top of the real meaning of Christmas – to give love and share our blessings with others.
聖誕節即將來臨，很多人都很興奮的期待能在政府較少限制的情況下欢度（如果確診人數減少而大都遵守健康規則）。哼著聖誕歌、安排活動、幻想美味佳餚、構想與家人親友團聚的樂趣，但我們都知道，這些快樂的活動只是一種裝飾，聖誕的真正意義是給予愛和與他人分享我們的幸福。
To put the essence of Christmas into action, Uno High School is launching its annual Christmas fund drive on November 15, 2021. Despite the little improvement in the economy, many less fortunate brothers and sisters are still reeling from the effects of the pandemic, trying to make ends meet because of their diminished or lost capacity to earn their living. The true Unean doesn’t just watch on the sidelines as others continue to suffer. The tradition of charity exemplified by our founder Don Domingo Yu Chu and our former principal Dr. Yu Siek Pong and our alumni continues to throb in our hearts. The Unean spirit of kindness and compassion propels us to do our best in order to help out anyone in need.
為將聖誕節的意義付諸行動，學校將於本(11) 月 15 日啟動一年一度的聖誕濟貧運動，儘管經濟稍有改善，許多不幸的兄弟姐妹仍然受到疫情的困擾，他們因謀生能力減弱或喪失而艱苦的量入為出。真正的尚一人不會在其他人繼續受苦時袖手旁觀，我們的創校人楊翼注先生、前校長楊式榜博士和校友所體現的慈善傳統繼續在我們心中跳動，尚一人仁慈和同情的精神驅使我們盡力幫助有需要的人。
Our Christmas fund drive which starts today and ends on December 17, 2021 is the ideal channel for us Uneans to carry out our mission of charity. Unlike the previous years, we will not be considering donations in kind this year because we do not have enough staff members to keep track of, organize, and sort such donations. Instead, we will be accepting cash donations which will benefit the many needy families living near our school, as well as other charitable institutions. Please share your blessings by sending your cash donations to Uno High School Incorporated (account name), Banco de Oro (BDO) account number 000238022346*, on or before our deadline on December 17. (*Please note that this bank account is for the Christmas fund drive only. Please do NOT deposit your payments for the enrollment fees here. Thank you.)

Proverbs 11:24 says, “One person gives freely yet gains even more.” Those who give hope to others and share their blessings with others will be enriched many times over because they become the embodiment of true love and kindness, and nothing in this world can compare with such spiritual abundance.
箴言11:24 說：「慷慨施捨，所得更多」，給他人希望，與他人共享幸福，會因真愛與仁慈而更富足，世界上沒有任何事物能與精神上的富足相提並論。
