Dear Parents/Guardians, Students, and Alumni:
The most anticipated holiday of the year, Christmas, is just a few weeks away. We all know that we will be celebrating Christmas a little differently this year. Since most of us will just be staying safe in our homes and doing away with lavish parties, gift-giving, and trips abroad, there is definitely a more meaningful way to keep up the Christmas spirit.
Many of our less fortunate neighbors and fellow citizens are not only reeling from the effects of the pandemic but also suffering from the aftermath of horrible typhoons that have recently swept through the country. Many have lost their homes and livelihood and are struggling to survive in the face of flooding and devastation.
As we count our blessings, let us remember our brothers and sisters who need our help so much. A disaster like this is always an acid test for the nobility of the human spirit. This is the time to give what little hope we can to the hopeless, to give courage to the helpless, to give faith to the forsaken. The true Unean goes beyond charity and generosity. The true Unean is a person of genuine compassion and love. Let us hold true to the Unean spirit and give all that we can to our suffering countrymen now that they greatly need our help. Whatever help we can give will undoubtedly go a long way.
The Uno Christmas Fund Drive 2020 will start onThursday, November 19, 2020, and will end on December 18, 2020. Please share your blessings by depositing your cash donations into Uno High School Incorporated (account name), Banco de Oro (BDO) account number 000238022346 on or before our deadline on December 18. Unlike the previous years, we will not be considering donations in kind this year because we do not have enough staff members to keep track of, organize, and sort such donations.
Your cash donations will benefit the needy families living near our school, as well as the typhoon victims in the different calamity areas.
As our late principal Dr. Jose Yu Siek Pong had always said, “Christmas is more meaningful when we share our blessings with the poor.” Thank you and may God continue to pour His blessings upon you!
Sincerely,
The Uno High School Administration
